04:10 pm - sketchbook pages from Rome. feb 2008 Last Feb I went to Rome with my sister and my mom. here is a page from the travel sketchbook. (click it!)
Also on this trip, my sister and I discovered a stray slice of salami that kept making appearances in various places throughout our apartment. I first found it in my bed! We came to the conclusion that our cleaning lady must just have scraps of Italian meat caught in the folds of her clothes and they fall out from time to time. This became known as "The Motherhood of the Traveling Salami".

07:03 pm - sketchbook pages more pages from Ireland...
many tasty meals were cooked in this kitchen in West Cork. I even learned how to make tortillas on this stove.

this is a patio in a nice little hostel outside of Dublin where I liked to sit and have breakfast and draw.

07:56 pm - sketchbook pages some things from my sketchbook from Ireland...
at one of the places I stayed in Ireland, I met a guy who was building a mobile home for himself and his wife and newborn baby. he had incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail in this crazy home he was making. and it really was being made in an old horse trailer. I wish I could have seen it when it was finished.

after a few months of organic vegetable gardening in Ireland it was time to lighten my load for the remainder of my travels. so I ditched my boots and a bunch of clothes.
